BANGALORE: The First Principal City Civil and Sessions Court has rejected the bail application filed by actor Darshan, who had allegedly assaulted and threatened his wife and son. The accused is now planning to approach the High Court for bail.Based on arguments by public prosecutor S C Agasimani, Judge R B Budihal observed that the actor could not be granted bail as he had caused “grave injuries to his wife in an inhuman act”.“The actor is booked under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC, which is of a very serious nature. As the investigation is still in progress, there is every chance that the accused may pressurise witnesses and come in the way of investigation. Hence, the accused cannot be granted bail,” the judge mentioned in his order. Also, the judge said the accused was forcing his wife Vijayalakshmi to file an affidavit saying she wanted to withdraw the complaint. The First ACMM court had denied bail to the actor on September 13. The following day, the defence counsel had moved the sessions court seeking bail. With the court again denying bail, Darshan was forced to remain in judicial custody till September 22. The custody is likely to be extended further. Meanwhile, Darshan’s counsel, Venkata Reddy, said they would move the High Court on Wednesday questioning the court’s order.
