Credit card leads to arrest of killers
Police found that some people have purchased three cellphones using Sandeepan’s (the victim) credit card.

New Delhi: The purchase of three mobile phones using the credit card of a sales officer of a private firm has landed two Haryana youths in police net for allegedly killing him.

Bijender Singh (24) and Amit Hooda (21), belonging to Haryana's Rohtak, were arrested from the capital for allegedly killing Sandeepan, who was on a business tour to Hisar.

The case came to light after one Anurag approached the police complaining that his brother-in-law Sandeepan, a sales officer with a Moti Nagar-based private firm, was missing from October 13 from Hansi in Haryana.

Anurag told police that the family could not reach Sandeepan, residing at Motin Nagar, through his mobile after 7:45 pm on October 13 as his mobile was switched off thereafter. He spoke to his wife last and was at Hansi then.

During investigation, police found that some people have purchased three cellphones using Sandeepan's credit card after the date of the report of his missing. Fuel was also purchased for his car from Shalimar Bagh area.

A watch was kept on the movement of these persons through the monitoring of cell phones and it led to the arrest of the youths.

Interrogation revealed that the duo, along with two other friends Arvind and Rohit, planned to go for a trip to Shimla by a car. They decided to commit a carjacking.

They stopped Sandeepan's car near Hansi and took control of the vehicle. The youths drove the car to Rohtak and then moved towards Sonepat, strangulated Sandeepan to death and dumped his body in a nearby canal, police said.

All the four accused entered the capital on October 13 and started spending money using the credit card, which led to the arrest of two. Two others are yet to be arrested.
