New Delhi: A local court on Wednesday refused to quash non bailable warrant against AAP MLA Somnath Bharti in domestic violence case.

The warrant was issued to the former Delhi law minister on Monday. Following the orders Bharti is likely to be arrested on Friday as Delhi High Court had on Tuesday given 2-day temporary relief to the AAP MLA . As per the orders he cannot be arrested till September 17. The court also asked police to submit a status report within two days.

He had earlier alleged that a case was being framed against him but his wife said that she has ample proof of his wrong doings. He earlier took a dig at the promptness shown by the Delhi Police in his case saying in last five days, he had experienced their "supersonic speed" and wished they could use it in making Delhi Crime-Free.

Meanwhile the ruling AAP on Tuesday had asked its MLA Somnath Bharti to surrender before police even as the former Delhi Law Minister approached high court seeking protection from arrest in a case related to domestic violence and attempt to murder filed by his wife.

Sources said the party was upset with Bharti as it is unable to contact him. "We are trying to contact him, but are not able to. We advise him to surrender before police," said AAP leader Ashutosh. The next court hearing will take place on Friday.
