Accusing party leadership of selling tickets and committing irregularities in deciding candidates for upcoming Lok Sabha elections, a Congress MLA in Rajasthan quit party posts on Tuesday.

Six-time MLA Bhanwar Lal Sharma quit as the member of AICC, PCC and PCC Executive and faxed his resignation to party president Sonia Gandhi and PCC chief Sachin Pilot, though he did not give up primary membership of the party.

"Tickets are being sold in the party. I was feeling very exhausted so I decided to quit as AICC, PCC and Executive member," he said.

Sharma, who represents Sardarshahar constituency in the state Assembly, said there was resentment among other party leaders also and they may take such steps if their voices were not heard.

Party sources said Sharma was demanding ticket from Churu constituency for his son but was denied.

"Ticket distribution should be fair and party leadership should consider and see who winnable candidate is, instead of being biased," he said.

PCC spokesperson refused to comment on the matter.
