The Community Mental Health Programme will be launched in the district within one month.
The programme, aimed at women, children and senior citizens, will be implemented in four districts in the state. As many as 20 clinics will be targeted this financial year under the programme.
Apart from Ernakulam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam and Palakkad are the other centres which selected for the Mental Health Programme. Funds worth Rs 39.56 lakh was sanctioned for the Ernakulam district for the programme.
The programme is being held as part of the National Rural Health Mission.
The psychiatry department of the Ernakulam General Hospital was selected as the nodal centre for the programme, with Dr Aniyamma George as the nodal officer.
