New Delhi: A Colombian lawmaker died after suffering a heart attack during a debate in the state Congress.
Sixty-year-old Jose Fernando Castro of President Alvaro Uribe's ruling coalition collapsed midway through a debate in a committee room of the building.
He was carried out of the room, but officials took another 20 minutes to decide whether he was to be shifted to a hospital.
A fellow lawmaker reportedly said that Castro's condition worsened while in the car on the way to the hospital.
Doctors later confirmed that Castro suffered two more heart attacks.
He however, was declared dead by the doctors when brought to the hospital.
