CM begins pre-budget departmental review

CHENNAI: Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday began pre-budget review of the State departments with the Home department. She will review all the 52 departments to assess specific needs, fine-tune priorities and allocate funds to improve their performance.In the Governor’s address, the government indicated that areas including infrastructure, public-private partnership policy to synergise State and private sector resources, programme to contain urban poverty, and more investments in hardware sector would receive a thrust as part of efforts to propel growth. The budgetary allocations are expected to toe the policy outline found in the address.An official release here said, a comprehensive assessment of the Home department was done by the Chief Minister.
