NEDUMBASSERY: The Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) has finalised flight operations for the Winter Schedule 2011, with effect from October 30. The Domestic Sector is well connected to destinations like Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Vishakapatnam, Hyderabad, Agatti, Ahmedabad, Kolkatta, T’Puram and Kozhikode.In the International Sector, flights are operated to Sharjah, Bahrain, Dubai, Doha, Bahrain, Kuwait, Muscat, Dammam, Riyadh, Jeddah, Abudhabi, Al-Ain, Kaula Lampur, Colombo and Singapore. Various destinations in the United States and Europe are connected via Dubai, Doha, Bahrain, Kuwait, Abudhabi, Singapore and Colombo. Destinations in Far East Asia and Australia are connected via Singapore and Colombo.Registering a remarkable 5.8 per cent growth in the flight operations at the Kochi airport in the Winter Schedule 2011, the total number of departure will enhance to 469 flights per week, with 190 flights in the International Sector compared to 189 departures in the Summer Schedule 2011, and 279 flights in the Domestic Sector compared to 254 flights during the Summer Schedule 2011.InterGlobe Aviation Limited has plans to launch international flight operations to/from the Kochi airport shortly. Kingfisher Airlines has introduced new flights to Bangalore and Chennai while SpiceJet has introduced new flights to Bangalore, Chennai and Delhi. Air India has scheduled new flights to Mumbai.
