An FIR has been lodged against BSP candidate from Ghaziabad Mukul Upadhyay for using loudspeakers at a meeting in Nasirpur in the constituency in violation of the Model Code of Conduct.

Another complaint of model code violation against Upadhyay was being investigated, said Ghaziabad ADM and in-charge of the poll panel's wing for ensuring implementation of the Model Code of Conduct RP Singh.

Flying squad personnel had found that the BSP candidate was holding a meeting using loudspeakers in Nasirpur, and disk jockey arrangement was also there at the venue.

"Thereafter, an FIR was registered," said another official.  Singh said Upadhyay also allegedly violated the poll code when he was heading to file his nomination papers on Wednesday. He allegedly carried more vehicles then allowed under the poll code. A probe team is probing this matter and after findings, action would be taken accordingly, Singh said.
