Bruni makes more than just a fashion statement

New Delhi: French First Lady Carla Bruni visited Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital to meet HIV positive patients on Monday.

She also visited the NAZ Foundation, an NGO that works on HIV/AIDS prevention and sexual health issues.

Bruni visited the pediatric and maternity wards at Safdarjung Hospital to see facilities for pregnant women who are HIV/AIDS patients.

The first lady lost her brother to an AIDS-related illness back in 2006 and has been vocal in campaigning for more awareness.

She is a brand ambassador for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, a financing institution that invests money for victims.

She is also involved with the Bill Gates Foundation.
