Border villages across the Ravi river have been cut off by flood waters
At least six border villages across the Ravi river remained cut off following flooding of the Basanter Nullah.

Gurdaspur: At least six border villages across the Ravi river remained cut off following flooding of the Basanter Nullah.

The affected villages are Ghania ke Bet, Kassowal, Puranawal, Lallowal Gunia, Saharanpur and Mansore.

The flood waters also breached an embankment on the Indian side after the flow of water increased sharply following recent heavy spell of rains, officials said.

Some BSF pickets on the India-Pakistan international border were also affected due to the flood in Basanter Nullah.

At least 200 persons across the Ravi river in Ghania ke Bet village were also stranded and took shelter in BSF relief camps.

The BSF has also started rescue operations in the flood

affected areas.
