Books released

KOCHI: “Poetry teaches us to be universal beings,” said renowned litterateur and Jnanpith laureate O N V Kurup at the book release function held as a part of 14th International Book Fair organised by DC Books at Marine Drive here on Thursday. Two poetry collections of O N V Kurup, ‘Punarapi’ and ‘Aatmagadangal’ were released by writer Chemmanam Chacko, who handed it over to poet Attoor Ravi Varma.  “Nowadays poetry is like a pearl lost in the deep ocean of noise, which surrounds the modern man. He has become a machine, busy after  worldly luxuries and pleasures. But poetry asks us to be the man who enjoys being a realist,” ONV said.
