In a horrific incident, a videographer, who came to shoot a birthday celebration in Bihar’s Darbhanga district, was shot dead for allegedly failing to record the whole function. The incident took place on Wednesday night in Makhnaha village under the Baheri police station of Darbhanga.

The deceased, identified as Sushil Kumar Sahni, was rushed to Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) after he was shot in the mouth, but he succumbed to his injuries during treatment, according to a report by Times of India.

As per the report, Sushil was hired by accused Rakesh Sahni, a co-villager, for videography of his daughter’s birthday celebrations.

However, the videography was interrupted after the battery of Sushil’s camera died in the middle of the festivities.

Furious over this, Rakesh first abused him and then pumped a bullet into his mouth.

The accused, along with his friends, rushed Sushil to DMCH, but left him at the hospital gate and ran away due to fear of being caught.

Hospital staff immediately admitted Sushil to the emergency ward where he died during treatment, police said.

Angry over the incident, locals blocked the traffic on Laheriasarai main road on Thursday morning and demanded the immediate arrest of the accused. The blockade was cleared after Benipur SDPO Sumit Kumar reached the spot and pacified the protesting villagers.

“The father of the deceased has lodged an FIR against Rakesh, who is absconding after the incident. Preliminary investigation revealed that Rakesh is also involved in the illegal liquor trade. We have detained three persons for interrogation in this connection, and raids are being conducted to nab the accused,” the SDPO said, as per the TOI report.
