The films are a collaboration between the Warners Bros and DC Comics and will be released on DVD.

Los Angeles: Superhero Batman's sidekick Robin is set for a sex change in two new animated movies as the crimefighting character will be voiced by a girl. 'Modern Family' star Ariel Winter will play Carrie Kelly, the brand new Robin in the two animated films, The Hollywood Reporter said.

'Robocop' star Peter Weller will take on the lead role of Batman/Bruce Wayne. 'Batman: The Dark Knight Returns' actor Michael McKean, who is currently recovering from a car accident in New York will voice Dr Wolper and 'Prison Break' star Wade Williams will double up as Harvey Dent/Two-Face.

The films, a collaboration between the Warners Bros and DC Comics, is an adaptation of Frank Miller's popular 1986 graphic novel series and will be released on DVD later this year.
