Bangarappa gets HC clean chit

BANGALORE: Karnataka High Court on Monday said that the special court for CBI cases was correct in acquitting former chief minister S Bangarappa and others in Classic computer scandal.
The HC upheld the special court's order and dismissed CBI's appeal that had challenged the acquittal. The case pertains to the state government's purchase of computers in March 1993. A FIR had been filed, alleging irregularities in the purchase. The CBI had filed a chargesheet in this regard in July 1994.
