Gurdaspur Superintendent of Police (SP) Salwinder Singh, whose vehicle was forcibly taken away by the heavily-armed terrorists in Pathankot is under scanner for possible links with the perpetrators, National Investigation Agency (NIA) sources said.
It is also learnt that SP Salwinder Singh is likely to be taken into custody. NIA is probing into the SP's alleged link with Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists.
The sources also added that the SP might have played a crucial role in the Pathankot attacks. It is also believed that Singh could have also provided logistical support.
There is also suspicion over his late night visit to the Panjpir temple.
Earlier speaking to media persons on Tuesday, DGP Punjab Police Suresh Arora said that they will investigate why SP Salwinder Singh's car was not stopped at the check points.
