CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has rejected a plea from 80-year-old P Rajalakshmi (80) of T Nagar to release her son Subramanian alias Ravi Subramanain, an accused in the Kanchipuram Sankararaman murder case, who later turned approver and now turned hostile. Citing Sec 306(4)(b) of the CrPC, which stated that unless a person had already been granted bail, he be detained in custody until the termination of the trial, a division bench comprising Justice C Nagappan and Justice T Sudanthiram rejected Rajalakshmi’s habeas corpus writ petition praying for a direction to the Vishnu Kanchi police to produce her son in court and set him at liberty.
