550 DG Vaishnav students receive their degrees

The graduation day ceremony of the DG Vaishnav College was held here recently.

As many as  550 students from 10 departments received their degrees and took an oath to promote the integrity and secular ideals of the country. Addressing the gathering, the chief guest, G Bhaskar Ramamurthi, Director of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, said the students had the responsibility of making India ‘a strong and resurgent’ nation. “You need to do it. You have to make it a reality,” he said.  Quoting the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, Ramamurthi urged students to follow them and have faith in themselves. “Follow his teachings and build a strong, compassionate and a sustainable India. Build an India that is a beacon to the world which leads by example,” he said.
