3 Maoists surrender

KEONJHAR: Three Maoists surrendered before the DIG (western range) Jaswant Jethwa and Keonjhar SP Ashish Singh on Tuesday.They have been identified as Bela Purty alias Sunita (19), Lengara Tiria alias Ramesh (18) and Ladar Jamuda alias Bhagat (20).  Bela, a resident of Ambadahi village under Ghasipur police limits, was involved in a murder case in Kaliapani in Jajpur district and exchange of fire with police in Naradangipentha under Daitari police limits.Similarly, Lengara Tiria alias Ramesh was involved in the attack on Similipal beat house at Chahala in Mayurbhanj district and  exchange of fire at Champajhar in Keonjhar. Lengara is a resident of Baragotha village in Ghasipur block.Ladar, also a native of Ambadahi village, organised meetings of the Maoists in the area.Informing this to mediapersons, Jethwa said Bela was sexually harassed by senior Maoist leaders. He said that they would be rehabilitated as per the State Government’s rehabilitation policy. CRPF Commandant Preetmohan Singh and Deputy Commandant Anil Tripathy were present.
