Three persons were arrested by the CBCID sleuths for the sale of duplicate memory cards and USB flash drives here on Wednesday. Sources said Gurjot Singh, Attorney, SanDisk Corporation Ltd, US had lodged a complaint against Mir Tex Enterprises, Balaji Accessories, and Ram Dev Marketing, all located on Ritchie Street in the city.
Based on the complaint, raids were conducted in the shops and duplicate SanDisk memory cards,USB Drives,packaging material, hologram stickers and MRP stickers with a face value of `11 lakh were seized. In sequel, Chela Singh, Kishore and Mayendra were arrested.
Ganja, Phone Seized at Puzhal Prison A mobile phone and 100 gm of ganja were seized at the Puzhal Central Prison here on Tuesday.
The contraband and an old mobile phone were apparently flung into the prison from the other side of its rear compound wall.
The incident came to light when the warders on duty noticed two inmates, Saravanan (22) and Murugavel (29), gathering these items.
The matter was reported to Puzhal police, who registered a case. An inquiry was on.
One Held for Attempt to Molest Woman A youth man was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly attempting to molest a 29-year-old woman in Adambakkam.
Police said that a woman in her complaint alleged that one Ramesh, a resident of Ambedkar Nagar in Adambakkam, who was in an inebriated condition, tried to molest her. Based on her complaint, Ramesh was arrested. A case has been registered and further investigations are on.
