New Delhi: A 23-year-old woman was abducted and raped in a moving car for close to two hours in Faridabad's Sector 16 area on Saturday. The victim was then dumped on the roadside before the assailants fled.
The woman was on her way home after work around 7 pm, when four men in a jeep pulled her inside. The culprits are said to have then driven towards Palwal.
As her colleagues saw her being abducted, they informed the police, who swung into action. Several teams were dispatched in different directions and security was tightened at various check-points. The victim was found near a petrol pump in Sikri around 9 pm, said the Faridabad police spokesperson.
Police said the minor's private parts were mutilated and the liver was ruptured. She had been missing since last Tuesday after she left home for tuition classes. The body was found near a canal at Budha Khera village in Jind district's Safidon town.
Another Dalit girl was also raped in Panipat. The body of the 11-year-old was found in a village in Panipat district on Saturday morning. Police said she was abducted by two men last evening when she had gone out of her house to throw garbage in the village dump yard.
“Two culprits have been arrested in connection with the Panipat gang-rape case and one person has been identified in Kurukshetra rape case,” said Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in Karnal.
