HYDERABAD: On the eve of the 50th National Pharmacy Week Celebrations, Indian Pharmacy Graduate Association held a mega blood donation camp on the premises of Drugs Control Administration in the city on Wednesday. Actor turned politician K Chiranjeevi was the chief guest of the event. RP Thakur, director general (drugs and copyrights) donated blood and said that donating blood meant giving new life to others who are in need. During the camp, about 208 people donated blood and 100 people registered their names for donation within a week at Chiranjeevi Blood Bank. It is said that there is a shortage of 2 million blood units in the state, while the total requirement is 8 million blood units. The officials appealed to the public to come forward and fill the gap of the shortage.
