Telugu star Nani has been riding high on the success of his most recent film Dasara which was released in March of this year. He is now looking forward to two of his upcoming films Hi Nanna and Saripodhaa Sanivaaram. While the former is a romantic family drama, the latter is a masala action film. The shooting for Saripodhaa Sanivaaram has just begun while Hi Nanna will release on December 7. Nani has been relentlessly promoting the film along with his team.
To promote Hi Nanna, the actor recently held an AskMeAnything session on social media, where he took questions from fans, both related to the film and beyond. One user asked him a political question. Nani was asked about his opinion on the Telangana Assembly election results, which were declared on December 3. The ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) was defeated by the Indian National Congress. For the first time, the Indian National Congress secured 64 seats in Telangana, enhancing its standing in the southern regions.
Nani had a very interesting take on the development. He answered by saying that the people of Telangana have been watching blockbuster movies for 10 years, referring to the 10-year rule by BRS. But now, he said that the movie at the theatre has changed, referring to Congress coming to power. “Let us hope this movie is also a blockbuster,” Nani said.
It also looks like director Venu Yeldandi of Balagam fame may have an opportunity to direct Nani soon as the actor has expressed an interest in being directed by him. In the same interaction with fans, Nani was asked about his desire to work with new directors. Nani expressed his interest in working with Venu.
Coming back to Hi Nanna, members of the censor board were reportedly in tears at the tender moments skillfully portrayed in the film. The board members’ sincere reactions were prompted by the poignant emotional bond between Nani and his child, portrayed by Kiara. The film stars Mrunal Thakur as the female lead.
