The Telugu film industry has been producing some of the most exciting content. Recently, some of the small-budget films have performed extremely well at the box office, and people have loved the engaging content and performances in these films. One such film was Baby, which was released in July. The film was directed by Sai Rajesh Neelam and starred Anand Deverakonda, Vaishnavi Chaitanya and Viraj Ashwin in the lead roles.
The film received immense love and recognition from the audience and became a huge hit in theatres. Apart from that, the film had some controversial scenes. Now, there have been reports that a notice has been issued by the police against the producers of the film.
The Hyderabad Police have issued a notice to the makers of the Telugu film for a sequence in which two characters are seen rolling marijuana with rolling paper. The notice to appear has been issued by Hyderabad Commissioner of Police CV Anand. He has requested that director Sai Rajesh Neelam, producer Sreenivasa Kumar Naidu (SKN), actors Vaishnavi Chaitanya and Kirrak Seetha, who appear in the mentioned scene, and the production company Mass Movie Makers appear before the Commissioner at the Telangana state Integrated Command and Control Centre.
According to City Police Commissioner CV Anand, films play an important role in influencing the public and filmmakers should be responsible for not advocating drug abuse through their work. He added that the police have no intention of harassing the makers but just want the makers to have the right attitude while making the film.
Hyderabad Police have objected to a sequence in which Vaishnavi (played by Vaishnavi Chaitanya), who comes from a low-income community, is shown becoming used to the lifestyle of her wealthier classmates in engineering college. One of her classmates is shown offering her rolling paper to roll marijuana. The scene caused a lot of controversy.
Despite the success of the film, Baby has always been amid controversies. One controversy stemmed from the scene where the male characters in the film were seen insulting females in general.
