Can I enable crossplay in Overwatch 2?
On PC, crossplay is automatically enabled for all accounts. You'll be able to play with players on PC or console for all game modes except for Competitive modes. Due to the difference between keyboard and mouse versus controller, Competitive modes are split into two pools: PC players and console players. However, when you queue up for Quick Play, Arcade, or Custom games, you'll be placed in a mixed pool of both players. If you want to actively play with console players, you'll need to add them as a friend and play as a party.
Adding Friends
Launch Overwatch 2. You can download Overwatch 2 on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch.
Select Social. This will be below Battle Pass. You can also select the two-person icon in the top-right corner.
Select Add Friend. This is the orange button next to your online status.
Enter the player's BattleTag. This is the same as the player's Overwatch name. If your friend is on console and doesn't know their BattleTag, they can hover over their name in the top-right corner of the Overwatch 2 menu screen. A BattleTag will look like: Username#0000.
Select Send Request. This will send the friend request to the player. When they accept, you'll see them in the Friends tab of the Social page. To add them to your party, select their username, and then select Invite to group. Your next game will be cross-platform.
