. This article will teach you how to make a model of it in real life!
Preparing
Familiarize yourself with the blue orchid from Minecraft. Have a picture of the blue orchid beside you through the process to act as a reference. As an alternative, you can create a sketch to swatch your colors so you know what the final product should look like and emphasize each pixel.
Gather all your materials. They include wooden blocks and glue for the structure, paint supplies to add color and varnish to give your model the finished look. For all the equipment you'll need, see the "things you'll need" list. It is advisable to have napkins handy in case things get messy.
Building the Vase
Build the bottom of the vase. While the vase is optional, it can act as a good base, unless you are planning to hang the flower up. Create a 3x3 square with wooden blocks and glue them together.
Glue another layer of 3x3 wooden blocks on top of the first layer. This layer should match the bottom layer exactly.
Add a third layer of blocks along the periphery of the square. This shall make the top layer of the vase. Make sure to leave a hole in the center so that the flower stem can fit inside. It should look like a square ring, making your vase a 9x9x9 cube with a hole on the top.
Building the Flower
Break down the flower into small chunks. Focus on each individual chunk first. For example, the reference has many 4x4 squares that you can create first. The image shows examples of how the flower can be divided into various parts.
Glue all the chunks like a puzzle based on your reference. Use the glue to plug up any gaps between pieces.
Understand that creating the angles of the flower can be tricky as no round edges exist. To show curves, glue the edges of the blocks together such that the first block does not entirely cover up the face of the other block. This can give the illusion of pixels.
Painting the Model
Paint a basecoat of white over the entire flower so the colors pop. Acrylic paint is best for this purpose because it's quick-drying and sticks to wood well.
Paint the flower and vase according to your reference. Build up the layers to make the colors pop.
Fix any mistakes during your painting process. If you make a mistake, wait for that layer of paint to dry and paint over it with the right color.
Coat the entire flower in multiple layers of clear varnish to protect your paint.
Finished.
