How Uber Eats Works
Get food delivered right to your door with Uber Eats. Uber Eats is a food delivery service hosted by Uber. You can use it to order food from countless restaurants in your area. The service is available in the United States and internationally.
Uber Eats charges various fees as part of your order. As you might imagine, Uber Eats charges a delivery fee on orders. The delivery fee varies depending on the distance and time of your order. Typically, the delivery fee ranges from $0.99 to $4.99. A service fee will also be applied to your order, covering taxes and other expenses. You can waive this fee with an Uber One subscription. Uber Eats may also charge a small cart fee of $2 for orders under $10.
Uber Eats accepts several payment methods. You can use a credit or debit card, PayPal, Venmo, a gift card, or CVS Pharmacy. To pay with CVS Pharmacy, visit a CVS Pharmacy location and pay with cash. The cashier will ask for your Uber account credentials and upload the corresponding funds. Although this method may be convenient for some, buying and uploading a gift card to your account is likely quicker and easier.
Uber Eats offers four different delivery methods. The Standard delivery option varies according to how busy the restaurant is, but will likely take anywhere from 25-45 minutes. Priority delivery costs $2.99 extra, but ensures your delivery is put to the front of a driver's queue. You can also schedule a delivery for a later time. The final option is to order pickup within the app, which waives all delivery fees.
