London: Chelsea defender David Luiz is adamant he will do everything he can to ensure he is fit to play in the Champions League final against Bayern Munich in two weeks' time.
The defender has been sidelined since being stretchered off the field during his side's 5-1 FA Cup semi-final win over Tottenham last month, and missed Saturday's victory over Liverpool in the final at Wembley.
However, the former Benfica man is confident of featuring at the Allianz Arena on May 19, a date Luiz says footballers all over the world dream about.
"Every day, I have had treatment and am going through hard training so that, in Munich, I can play," the Brazilian told reporters. "I am doing everything I can for this game. It is a dream [to play]. Not just my dream of course, but for all players in the world. They all dream to play in the Champions League final."
"I think my fitness will be good and I will be fit for Munich."
Manager Roberto Di Matteo will be hopeful the 25-year-old is available, particularly with John Terry, Ramires, Raul Meireles and Branislav Ivanovic all suspended for the game.
"We have four great players out," Luiz said. "This is difficult - without JT, Ivanovic, Ramires and Meireles, but we have other players who can do excellent jobs in this Champions League."
