Mapusa: Churchill Brothers SC have their task cut out as they gear up to face Prayag United in their crucial tie of the I-League football championship at Duler Stadium here on Sunday. Churchill Brothers have dropped points in the last two matches as they drew against Mumbai FC and lost to Sporting Clube de Goa.

They have slipped to second position with 38 points from 17 matches, one point behind East Bengal, who have played two matches more than Churchill Brothers. The Goan outfit's defence has been a cause of concern after Bilal Najarine left them and Dharmaraj Ravanan, another key player, not available for Sunday's encounter after being shown red card in the last match.

Churchill Brothers have a tough job in hands against their opponent, who have Ranty Martins in their side. Martins has shown that he can breach any opponent's defence if given a space to operate inside the box. But with Roberto Silva spearheading Churchill attack with clever passes, the rival defence will have a tough time keeping strikers Henry Antcouet and Akram Moghrabi, the main scorers for the local team, under check.

Churchill Brothers coach Mariano Dias said they have planned a strategy to keep an eye on Martins and not allow him to operate freely. Dias hoped his team plays to its potential and registers a win, which is a must if are to remain in the hunt for the title.

Prayag United have come here with an impressive 4-1 win over Air-India in their last tie and are placed fourth in the points table after playing 19 matches. Coach Eelco Schattorie wants Prayag United to extend their winning momentum and looking forward to his team finishing among the top five.
