After being at odds since 2020, Sonu Nigam and T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar buried their hatchet at the singer’s 50th birthday celebration in July. Earlier this month, the duo collaborated on a new single titled Bitter Betrayals, a rendition of his old song Acha Sila Diya (Bewafa Sanam), which has been received well by the music aficionado. News18 has learned that Sonu and Bhushan are coming together for another single which is tentatively titled Deewana 2.
Confirming the news, Sonu Nigam said, “Yes, Bhushan and I are working on Deewana 2 which is going to be like a sequel to my music album Deewana (which was released in 1999). I am enjoying independent music and Deewana 2 is going to be interesting. It is a bit early but I am sure it is going to come out well.”
Talking about the response to Bitter Betrayals, Nigam said, “I am happy with the response this song is getting from the audience. Gulshan Kumarji has a very big role in my career. I have done a lot of good work even with Bhushan. After Gulshanji’s death, I took care of Bhushan like my brother. They also supported me a lot.”
The singer has always been known to be opinionated and agrees that this attitude has been a hindrance to his work, “I have been banned and sometimes even replaced. But I have learnt that if the intent is good then no one can put you down. Whenever I have voiced an opinion contrary to the people who are ruling the business, my intent has been evil or to be arrogant. At the same time, I don’t feel that I faced any injustice and would want to point fingers at anyone. I am blessed to have a career and the audience even today showers the same love that they did at the start of my career.”
