Osmania University has released the notification of the Telangana State Eligibility Test (TS SET) 2024. Candidates who are willing to apply for the exam can visit the official website of the university, telanganaset.org, to fill out the registration forms. The last date to apply is July 2, 2024. Candidates can edit their application forms between July 28 and 29. Hall tickets can be downloaded from August 20. The exams will be held from August 28 to 31.
TS SET 2024: Eligibility Criteria
General Category candidates who have secured 55 per cent of marks or equivalent CGPA in their post-graduation examination can apply for TS SET 2024. BC, SC, ST, PwD, and transgender category candidates who have secured 50 per cent of marks or equivalent CGPA in their PG examination.
TS SET 2024: Steps to Apply
Step 1: Go to the official website at telanganaset.org.
Step 2: On the homepage, click on the registration link.
Step 3: A new window will be displayed. Fill out the form.
Step 4: Cross-check all the details mentioned in the form carefully.
Step 5: Pay the application fees and upload documents.
Step 6: Download and take a printout of the acknowledgment form for further use.
TS SET 2024: Application Fees
For OC category candidates, the application fee is Rs 2000. For BC-A, BC-B, BC-C, BC-D, BC-E, and EWS category candidates, the application fee is Rs 1500 while for SC, ST, VH, OH, HI, and transgender is Rs 1000.
The TS SET consists of two papers, both featuring objective-type questions and is conducted in a three-hour session. In paper I, candidates are presented with 50 compulsory questions, each carrying two marks. These questions aim to evaluate the candidate’s teaching and research aptitude. They assess reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness. On the other hand, Paper II contains 100 objective-type compulsory questions, also carrying two marks each, and is tailored to the subject selected by the candidate, covering the entire syllabus.
TS SET is being administered at the state level by Osmania University, Hyderabad, acting on behalf of the Government of Telangana. This examination serves the purpose of assessing candidates’ eligibility for the roles of Assistant Professor and Lecturer within the universities and colleges situated in the State of Telangana. To pass the exam, candidates belonging to the general category must secure 40 per cent, and reserved category candidates must score at least 35 per cent.
