Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is not an easy exam to crack. Achieving success in this exam, and on top of it, becoming an IAS officer is a huge feat which can be accomplished through hard work and determination. Neha Byadwal was always known as the ‘daughter of a civil service officer’. Finally, she reached a point where she herself has become a civil servant, that too at a very young age of 24. Despite facing many setbacks and failures, she remained steady towards her goal. This is the success story of Neha Byadwal. Let’s take a look.
IAS officer Neha Byadwal is the daughter of Shravan Kumar, a senior officer at Income Tax. She was born in Jaipur, but she grew up in Chhattisgarh. It was her father who served as an inspiration for her to pursue UPSC and become a civil servant. Seeing him work for the country and for citizens, she also developed the same passion.
Due to her father’s transferable job, Neha Byadwal went to different schools in different states. She started her education in Jaipur and later she sought admission to Kidzee High School, Bhopal. She has also studied at DPS Korba and DPS Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh. She has always been very good at studies and was also a university topper. She completed her higher education at DB Girls College, Raipur. Later, she got a graduation degree in subjects like history, economics, and geography. Her college life had a very positive impact on her personality since she studied among students from all kinds of backgrounds and cultures. She sought inspiration from them and ignited her passion to create her own identity.
Before cracking the UPSC Civil Service Examination (CSE), she had already cracked the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) exam several times, but she never joined a government job. Her ultimate goal was to join the civil service. With proper guidance and extra effort, she was finally successful in cracking the UPSC exam.
To prepare for her exams, she took coaching in Delhi but later returned to Raipur. She decided to self-study and finally fulfilled her dream of becoming an IAS officer by securing the 569th rank in her fourth attempt at the UPSC examination.
While preparing for the exam, she said that she did not face many challenges. She was fixated on getting into civil service and did not let anything become a hindrance in the way of our goal. Despite failing, she did not give up and instead doubled up her efforts. She believes that if there is a problem, then there will always be a solution.
Neha Byadwal shared some helpful tips for UPSC aspirants. She urged the candidates to always have confidence in themselves and to keep trying. One of the biggest mantras is to work hard because there is no other option. She suggested making some targets for every day as upon completing them one would feel motivated to do even better.
