The city of Kota, known as the coaching capital of India, attracts students from across the country for medical and engineering coaching. While many succeed, some face setbacks. One such student, who arrived in 2001 for medical coaching, initially failed but later succeeded in both academics and career. Dr. Ravindra Goswami, now the district collector of Kota, shared his journey with students, highlighting resilience and learning from failures.

In a motivational seminar, Dr. Goswami advised students not to be discouraged by failure but to use it as a learning opportunity and strive for improvement. He recounted his path to success, highlighting his perseverance after initial setbacks.

To motivate NEET and JEE aspirants, Dr. Goswami shared his experience of securing a good rank, pursuing an MBBS from a government college and subsequently preparing for UPSC exams, leading to his appointment as an IAS officer in 2015.

Encouraging students to have backup plans, Dr. Goswami stressed the importance of staying connected with loved ones to manage stress. He recommended breaking study sessions into smaller intervals to enhance focus and time management.

Addressing the concerning trend of student suicides, the district collector urged students not to succumb to despair, reminding them of the support and prayers of their parents, who wish for their success and well-being.

Dr Ravindra Goswami’s journey from academic setbacks to professional success serves as a source of inspiration for students, emphasising resilience, learning from failures and maintaining a balanced approach to academics and mental health.
