India has some of the most popular and prestigious management institutes in the world. India has Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), which are rated as the country’s most reputable institutes for Master’s in Business Administration courses (MBA). These IIMs are quite popular, and to get admission into these colleges, aspirants have to pass an entrance examination called CAT. Some of the most popular IIMs are IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore and IIM Kozhikode. Recently, IIM Ahmedabad has introduced a two-year MBA program in a hybrid mode specifically for working professionals and entrepreneurs. It is designed to cater to individuals with a minimum of three years of work experience.
The newly launched course at IIM Ahmedabad will be synchronous online learning, which is supported by five different on-campus modules. The curriculum emphasises a case-based approach, to provide participants with practical learning experiences that will give them the information and skills required to succeed in today’s dynamic business landscape.
To be eligible for admission in the course, applicants must have at least three years of full-time job experience and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. The admissions process consists of an admissions test (IIMA Admission Test (IAT)/CAT/GMAT/GRE) and a personal interview.
According to Professor Bharat Bhaskar, Director of IIM Ahmedabad, 80 per cent of the studies in the online MBA will be taught online, and 20 per cent of the course will be done in offline mode on the campus. He also added that on taking admission, a fee of Rs 2 lakh will have to be paid, and thereafter, Rs 3 lakh will have to be paid in every instalment.
Professor Bharat Bhaskar also added that the course is designed for people who already have leadership potential and are working in a practical setting. This course has been designed for people who may be making future decisions based on their current job position, where they are already on a growth path, or due to financial, family, or location obligations that prevent them from enrolling in a full-time MBA program. This will also help them to become future CEOs and leaders. He further said that this program will be highly beneficial for working people.
