The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has announced the expected date for the National Eligibility Test (NET) 2021. As per the latest announcement, the CSIR NET 2021 exam is likely to be conducted by June this year. The Human Resource Development Group (HRDG), CSIR, has informed the aspirants about the same. In its tweet, HRDG-CSIR stated that they will do their best to conduct the CSIR NET exam byJune 2021 and notify the exact schedule by mid April 2021.

The last CSIR NET exam for June 2020 session was conducted on November 19, 21, 26 and 30 at various centres across the country. The result for the CSIR NET June 2020was declared on February 24 at www.csirnet.nta.nic.in. The CSIR NET June 2020result was published after addressing all the queries/objections received from the candidates in the provisional answer key. Those who have scored the category-wise minimum qualifying marks are eligible for fellowship/lectureship.
As per the official notification of NTA, the candidates qualified under JRF (NET) and Lectureship/Assistant Professor (NET) are subjected to the verification of documents by the concerned authority. The issuance of the ‘Eligibility Certificate’ to the qualified candidates will be notified soon on CSIR's official website. Aspirants are requested to keep visiting the website to stay updated.
NTA conducts the CSIR-UGC NET in CBT mode to examine the eligibility ‘for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship/Assistant Professor’ in several recognised universities and colleges across the country. Online applications for CSIR JRF/NET are invited twice a year. First session is conducted in June, while the second session is conducted in the month of December. However, CSIR JRF/NET exam for December 2020 session seems to be skipped due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The programme is designed to mainly focus on the National Science & Technology Human Resource Development.
