Rishabh Pant continues to put his biggest naysayers to bed as he came up with yet another witty response when asked about why he doesn’t play a relatively safe brand of cricket in the longest format.
Pant during his cricketing career has shown that he tends to be an aggressive customer with the bat, often employing a risky approach to his game. He has faced many moments of success during his career but he has also seen as many failures as well.
This led to the question by the popular content creator, Tanmay Bhat who in his video asked Pant whether he knows how to play it safe. Showcasing his quick thinking he whipped up a fine response to this by saying, “Abhi Bazball dekh rahe ho toh maza aa rha hai. Jab mein pehle kar rha tha toh acha nai lag rha tha kya? (When you see Bazball you enjoy it, but when I did it before did you not like it or what?)

During England’s recent Test tour of India, their opening batter, Ben Duckett had claimed that the English side should have gotten some credit for helping team India play ‘differently’ than how other teams play the longest format.
“When you see players from the opposition playing like that, it almost feels like we should take some credit that they’re playing differently than how other people play Test cricket,” Duckett had said.
The jury is still out on whether Bazball is the real deal. The fact of the matter is that England struggled after the first Test win in the five-match series to get a grip of the game and some situations demanded a quieter approach to their batting.

That being said, England have certainly risen in terms of being one of the better Test sides currently. It depends on whether Ben Stokes’s side can get some major achievements with this brand of cricket.

Pant on the other hand has results by his side. From helping Team India win the T20 World Cup 2024, to the infamous series win over Australia in away conditions, the wicketkeeper-batter has a lot of wins under his belt to show why he is amongst the best Test batters.
