IPL 2024 Orange Cap Standings: Virat Kohli continues to lead the race for the most runs scored in Indian Premier League.

Travis Head smashed 89 off just 32 balls, with the help of 11 fours and six sixes, at an astounding strike rate of 278.12, as he climbed up into the second spot in the Orange Cap race for the most runs in 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) as Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) beat Delhi Capitals (DC) by 67 runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Saturday.

Delhi’s chase too fizzled out as SRH bowlers struck regularly to push the asking rate near the realm of impossibility. Pacer T Natarajan bagged four wickets while leg-spinner Mayank Markande picked up two wickets for SRH.

Virat Kohli (RCB): The Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s shining light continues to deliver with the bat however the team as a whole have not been able to perform. He is currently at the top of the run-scoring charts as he has accumulated 361 runs in total from the seven games played at an average of 72.2 and a strike rate of 147.35.

Travis Head (SRH): The star of Australia’s World Cup Final win over India, has been tearing bowling line-ups apart in the IPL. Striking sixes from the first ball itself, the southpaw has been in terrific knick and has started to pile on the runs too.  He has 324 runs to his name from six games, at an average of 54.00 and a strike rate of 216.00.

Riyan Parag (RR): The youngster has had a fantastic performance through the season with the bat and seems to have found himself at the number four spot with the Royals. He has racked up 318 runs at an average of 63.6 and striking at a rate of 161.42.

Rohit Sharma (MI): The Hitman continues to have a fine season with the bat. Against PBKS he was not able to capitalise on his start but still made a significant contribution scoring 36 in 25 balls. In the season as a whole, he has scored 297 runs, averaging 49.5 and striking at a rate of 164.09.

KL Rahul (LSG): The star wicket-keeper-batter has led from the front. Standing up to make it count whenever his team need him to. He has 281 runs to his name from seven games with a strike rate of 142.63 and an average of 46.83.

Top 5 Bowlers in IPL 2024 Purple Cap Standings

Jasprit Bumrah (MI): Arguably one of the most valuable cricketers, Bumrah showcases his class during the important times. Against PBKS he picked up 3 wickets while giving away just 21 runs. This now makes it a total of 13 wickets in the seven games to make him the purple cap holder.

Yuzuvendra Chahal (RR): The experienced leg-spinner continues to show his doubters why he is still amongst the best spinners in the tournament as he is now second in the wicket-taking charts at 12 in the seven games.

Gerald Coetzee (MI): While he might be on the expensive side in terms of runs conceded, he continues to pick up crucial wickets for MI. Like Bumrah he also picked up three scalps and now finds himself amongst the top of the pile as he is level with Chahal in terms of wickets taken.

Mustafizur Rahman (CSK): The Bangladeshi pacer has been one of the trump cards for Chennai Super Kings. With his guile of line, length and speed, he has taken 11 wickets from six games and at an average of 19.18

Kuldeep Yadav (DC): The left-arm spinner has been in fine form bowling with the ball in the middle overs. His quality bowling is something that DC will continue to rely on. He has picked up 10 wickets in the five games played at an average of 15.20.
