Australia managed to clinch the ODI series against the West Indies with a win in the second ODI by 83 runs. Sean Abbot was the star of the show with an all-round show, scoring 69 off 63 deliveries and picking up three wickets as well at the SCG.

The hosts were under pressure during the start of the first innings having lost both openers cheaply. Skipper Steve Smith also departed without a significant score to put his side under further pressure. But cameos from Matthew Short who scored 41 along with the fifty from Sean Abbott pushed the Aussies to a total of 258 runs on the board.

In the second innings, the West Indies were not able to maintain composure as the batting unit was off to a poor start having lost three wickets for just 34 runs. Despite Keacy Carty scoring 40, none of the other batters managed to put up a significant score and were bundled out for just 175 runs.
