A school in Tirunelveli district in Tamil Nadu has recently been awarded the best school for the education year 2022-2023. The Old Pettai Municipal Corporation Primary School bagged the award at a function held on the occasion of Children’s Day, November 14 at the Anna Centenary Library located in Kotturpuram, Chennai.
The award was handed over by Minister of School Education Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi to the headmistress of the school Belsi Selvabai, Tirunelveli Nagar district education officer Kalachelvi and the school teacher Maharshi.
Chosen as the best school, the Corporation Primary School has the best infrastructural facilities and completes the basic needs of the students. Other facilities that are rolled out in the school include spoken English skills, painting, arts and crafts as well as physical training like karate.
Belsi Selvabai, Headmistress of the Corporation Primary School, said, “The future society should be developed into an intellectually strong and noble society by turning underprivileged students from the grassroots and rural areas into outstanding leaders and the best citizens of the country.”
Belsi Selvabai continued her address by stating that their school is working extremely hard and that they are thrilled to be one of the three award-winning schools in the Tirunelveli district. The principal added that the school, the students and the community around the school are inspired to accomplish more by this award for the finest school. She also praised the excellent effort of other instructors and teachers who helped the school attain its current success.
Additionally, she expressed gratitude to the Tamil Nadu government and other district officers for designating their school as the best school. She said that the school will thrive to maintain the reputation it has attained and promised to win the same award for the next academic year as well. The district education officials, fellow school head teachers, and school management committee members are congratulating the award-winning school.
