Dubai: A high-level Indian business delegation will visit Qatar next week aimed at expanding business ties with the Gulf country.
The 14-member delegation from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will visit Qatar's capital Doha from September 8 to 10.
It will be led by K K M Kutty, Chairman of CII's Gulf Committee and CEO and MD of South West Group of Companies, and includes CEOs and other senior representatives of various companies.
The CII theme for 2013-14 is 'Accelerating Economic Growth through Innovation, Transformation, Inclusion and Governance'.
Those part of the delegation include representatives of sectors such as infrastructure, energy, heavy engineering, manufacturing, engineering and other consultancy.
Other sectors are communications and information technology, financial services, international trading, pharmaceuticals and health care.
The visit is taking place in the context of the vast potential and enhanced interest on both sides to further expand business partnerships, a statement from the Indian embassy in Doha said.
CII works closely with government on policy issues, interfacing with thought leaders, and enhancing efficiency, competitiveness and business opportunities for industry through a range of specialised services and strategic global linkages.
It provides a platform for consensus-building and networking on key issues.
