Bengaluru man recounts his wife narrowly escaping strangers' chasing game in viral post.

Instances of road rage accidents and goons pursuing vehicles to harass locals in Bengaluru are witnessing a concerning uptrend. A recent incident, gaining widespread attention after being shared on the micro-blogging site ‘X’ by user Srijan R Shetty, highlights the precarious situation. Shetty narrated the harrowing experience his wife faced when a group of men chased her car late at night, narrowly escaping with her quick thinking.

“I’ve never felt unsafe in Bangalore – I know my privilege of being a Kannada speaking male – but last Thursday night I felt how unsafe certain parts of the city are post 10pm,” he began. However, he recounted a different reality experienced by his wife on November 8. As she was driving home with some colleagues, their car became the target of a relentless chase by a group of men for several kilometres, even demanding she exit the vehicle.

But it didn’t end there. The ordeal escalated as revealed by Shetty who revealed, “A few tempo drivers hit her car from the backside and joined the man in the green shirt in trying to pressurise people who couldn’t speak Kannada. None of the bystanders helped the three women and a guy in the car,” continued Shetty in his detailed post, which included a snapshot of the men involved.

Despite the adversity, his wife demonstrated quick thinking by stopping only on the main road and promptly notifying the police. “If it wouldn’t have been for her wits of calling the cops and then calling us and 10 of her friends to immediately join her at her location, the incident could have taken a different turn” expressed the concerned husband.

The post gained viral traction, with people sharing similar experiences of rising incidents in the Sarjapur area. “It’s sad to see a city that has mostly made everyone feel safe when certain unrest situations turn that safety into a crisis ! More strength and power to your wife and you!” remarked one user. Another commented, “This is happening so frequently now, just extremely sad scenario.”
