Porsche to Stop Offering Manual Transmission 911s from 2025, Here's What Brand Says

The performance-oriented car manufacturer Porsche will stop offering the 911 models with manual gearboxes in 2025. Yes, you read it right. The decision might upset a major section of the enthusiasts as the German carmaker is set to break the history of 60 years.

Amid this, the company somehow hinted that the transmission could make a comeback at a later stage. However, an exact timeline has not been shared as yet.

Statement by Official

As per the details shared by the Teambhp, quoting the statement by Frank Wiesman, Product Communication Manager, Porsche North America. He said, “For the 2025 model year, we’re excited to offer the 911 Carrera GTS in three body styles and two drive configurations (rear- and all-wheel drive) as well as the updated 911 Carrera Coupe and Cabriolet as well as continuing to offer the full range of current 911 Turbo models, and of course the 911 GT3 RS.”

In addition, he said, “Of course, one of the many strengths of the 911 has always been the variety of models within the range, and we’ll communicate on potential further variants in due course.”

Facelift 911 and the 911 Carrera GTS

Meanwhile, the company has recently unveiled the updated 911 and the 911 Carrera GTS with the latest hybrid powertrain. The models have been introduced in India at the starting price of Rs 2 cr (ex-showroom, without any accessories) for the base trim Carrera. The deliveries are set to begin in 2025.
