No WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match At WrestleMania 40? Here’s What We Know
While Damage Ctrl member Iyo Sky will be putting her Women’s Championship on the line, nothing has been revealed about Asuka and Kairi Sane’s WWE Women’s Tag-Team Championship title defence.

In a surprising turn of events, it is being reported that the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions will be absent from the WrestleMania 40 match card. With the ‘Show of Shows’ being right around the corner, a lot of the matches have already been confirmed for WWE’s premium live event.

While Damage Ctrl member Iyo Sky will be putting her Women’s Championship on the line, nothing has been revealed about Asuka and Kairi Sane’s WWE Women’s Tag-Team Championship title defence.

As per several media outlets, Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has mentioned that the company is currently planning something around Damage Ctrl for WrestleMania. The report read, “There is right now no women’s tag team title match planned, but there is something with Damage Ctrl”.

WrestleMania 40 will grace the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 6 and 7 this year. WWE wasted no time in laying the foundation of the highly-anticipated event. As of now, WrestleMania 40 is poised to witness several prestigious championship fights.

A star-studded match card is already shaping place with blockbuster clashes, including Logan Paul’s United States Championship defence against Kevin Owens and Randy Orton. Seth Rollins will be taking on Drew McIntyre for the World Heavyweight Championship and the high-octane main event between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship.

The show will also witness other title defences for the Women’s Championship, Women’s World Championship, Intercontinental Championship and the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship. The only notable exception to this title match card is the Kabuki Warriors’ WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.

While speculations have been made about a potential story around Damage Ctrl, nothing has been reported on what the ‘something’ may entail. In the company’s recent live events, the Kabuki Warriors, along with Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai, were seen to be having some problems with Naomi and Bianca Belair. A storyline could be built around that circle for the upcoming wrestling mega-event.

As for Damage Ctrl, Iyo Sky will be defending her WWE Women’s Championship against a former member of the faction Bayley. Winning the Women’s Royal Rumble match in January earlier this year, Bayley booked her ticket to WrestleMania and challenged her former Damage Ctrl teammate Sky.
