What DSDS 2015 should aim to achieve
The Summit should aim to reach an agreement that can ensure the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The economic prosperity of a country is intertwined with its natural resources and biodiversity. Therefore, it is imperative that measures to conserve these resources are taken.

The Summit should aim to reach an agreement that can ensure the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, with an emphasis on technological innovations in energy and environment, and clean energy for all. Finally, with climate change coming to an alarming situation, it is critical that we include it in our development planning.

The green initiatives that most corporates implement aim towards reducing energy use and waste. However, many are yet to stitch integrated sustainability into their strategic planning. Integrated sustainability is the first step towards conserving nature, as it addresses the primary barriers to sustainability with a 360 degree approach.

A holistic approach should be adopted so that the interdependence of various environmental elements can be understood. In addition, the practice of the 3 R's- Rs' - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (in order of sequence), should become the global mantra.

Over the last decade, a significant number of corporates have made strong commitments to environmental protection and biodiversity conservation. This shift to the green highway continues to grow, and will be further reinforced if stakeholders and government bodies support and reward companies that operate in the spirit of sustainability.
