Watch | Nikki Haley Releases First Video of ‘Grumpy Old Men’ Series Targeting Biden, Trump over Their Age
Nikki Haley is targeting Joe Biden and Donald Trump in a series of videos titled ‘Grumpy Old Men’ as part of her campaign offensive.

The former UN ambassador Nikki Haley’s presidential campaign team on Saturday rolled out a new digital ad under the “Grumpy Old Men” series targeting US President Joe Biden and his predecessor Donald Trump.

The ad was titled “Grumpy Old Men Say What?” and is the first video instalment of the campaign’s “Grumpy Old Men” series which takes on the frontrunners of both parties.

The video which lasts over two minutes shows clips of Biden appearing to fumble during speeches and footage of Trump mistakenly identifying Haley as former Speaker Nancy Pelosi and confusing Sioux City, Iowa, with Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

“Sixty percent of American families are living paycheck to paycheck, we’ve got an all-out crisis on the southern border, and wars blazing in Europe and the Middle East. We need to know that our leaders are at the top of their game and these grumpy old men are not passing muster,” Haley’s national spokesperson Olivia Perez-Cubas was quoted as saying by US-based news outlet The Hill.

“Nikki Haley is a new generational conservative leader with the strength, focus, and stamina to save our country,” Olivia Perez-Cubas further added.

In the Republican primary, Haley has focussed on setting herself apart from Trump as a fresh figure for the grand old party (GOP) and also using a similar strategy to distinguish herself from Biden.

Surveys indicate that this approach may be effective against Biden in a potential general election. According to a recent Quinnipiac University poll, Haley leads Biden by a significant margin, with 47% to 42%. The Hill’s Decision Desk HQ polling average indicates that Haley has a slight lead over Biden by just over one point.

Haley faces a challenging primary battle against Trump, with The Hill’s Decision Desk HQ average indicating Trump’s national lead over Haley by 57 points. The upcoming South Carolina Republican primary, scheduled in less than a month, also projects Trump leading Haley by an average of 31 points in the state.
