Doval and US NSA Jake Sullivan discussed issues of bilateral, regional and international concern and both reiterated the need to address global challenges collectively.

Indian National Security Advisor (NSA) on Friday spoke to US NSA Jake Sullivan and discussed upcoming high-level engagements under the Quad framework. Both NSAs discussed challenges to global peace and the need to address those challenges collectively, over a phone call.

The phone call between the NSAs was the first form of official communication between top officials of both nations after Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Russia.

Doval and Sullivan vowed to further advance India-US relations while highlighting that the bilateral relationship was built on shared values and common strategic and security interests.

A statement issued by New Delhi said: “They discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral, regional and international concern and forthcoming high-level engagements under the Quad framework to be held in July 2024 and later in the year”.

“The NSAs agreed to work closely to further advance India-US relations, which are built on shared values and common strategic and security interests,” the statement said.

“They reiterated the need to work collectively to address global challenges to peace and security and further expand the Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership,” the statement further added.
