India Ready to Provide All Possible Cooperation On Ending Ukraine Conflict, PM Modi Tells Putin
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that it was his second visit to Russia in the current year which goes on to show the depth of New Delhi-Moscow relationship.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was warmly welcomed by Russian President Vladimir Putin in Kazan on Tuesday ahead of the BRICS summit in the city. Putin said Russia-India ties ‘do not require translation’ and thanked PM Modi for visiting the city for the summit.

PM Modi also said that India remains ready to help in early restoration of peace in Ukraine. The war in Ukraine, which began in February 2022, is inching towards its third year.

“We have been in touch. We maintain that peace is important, and we support the restoration of peace,” Modi stated.

“In the coming days, India is ready to provide all help,” he further added.

Russia is the current chair of the BRICS, which has a rotational presidency.

The acronym BRIC was coined in 2001 by then-Goldman Sachs chief economist Jim O’Neill in a research paper that underlined the massive growth potential of Brazil, Russia, India and China this century.

Russia, India and China began to meet more formally, eventually adding Brazil, then South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates. Saudi Arabia has yet to formally join.

The prime minister also referred to his summit talks with Putin in Moscow in July.

Our annual summit resulted in strengthening cooperation in every field, he said.

The prime minister congratulated Putin on Russia’s successful presidency of BRICS and said many countries want to join the grouping now.
