YouTuber Slams boAt For Poor Quality And Customer Support, Company Reacts
YouTuber and content creator Vaishnavi Shukla shared a scathing video lambasting boAt for making poor-quality items that break weeks after purchase.

In recent years, boAt Lifestyle has emerged as one of the leading audio gadget brands in India. The brand, founded in 2016 by Sameer Mehta and Aman Gupta, makes earphones, headsets, and speakers. On Tuesday, a YouTuber and content creator Vaishnavi Shukla shared a scathing video that lambasted the boAt for consistently making poor quality that broke down just weeks after the purchase. She called the company a “total scam” and showed how the strap of her smart watches broke down and the wiring of the headsets stripped out. Shukla added that to make matters worse, the customer support of the company did not stick to the product warranty.

Shukla mentioned that every time she complained about the defective products, boAt representatives argued that it was physical damage caused by the customer and hence the warranty benefits were not applied. She urged people to boycott boAt and wrote in the video caption, “Boycott boat products until and unless they start acknowledging our reviews and promise to make a change regarding the same!” This video got over 23,000 likes in less than a day.

boAT responded to this video and wrote, “Hi Vaishnavi, we’re eager to make things right and give you the amazing boAthead experience you deserve. We have asked for your contact details via DM. We request you to share the same so that we can get this closed on priority. We truly appreciate your support and we hope to keep you as a happy boAthead for years to come!”

In the comments section, many others shared similar complaints about boAt’s poor quality. An Instagram user wrote, “This is a very old tactic! They never provide you with proper warranty coverage! Also, they try to fool you or make it look as it was your mistake! However, the quality is poor and audio quality is not on the point or worth the money!”

Another person wrote, “Same thing happened to me … i sent a product due to power on failure and they replied as the net is broken hence the product is damaged. What does the net of the earphones have to do with the power of the product.” Expressing a similar opinion, an Instagram user wrote, “This is absolutely terrible! I can’t believe it! I bought three speakers this year, and guess what? All of them have issues! None of them are working properly. This company is producing such low-quality products. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to buy from them!”
