Woman Complains About Uncomfortable Overcrowded Train, TTE Says 'I Am Not Railway Minister'
Viral Video: Woman complains about feeling uncomfortable in overcrowded train, TTE replies, 'I am not Railway Minister.'

Overcrowded trains are a hot topic these days, with everyone feeling frustrated. From AC coaches packed with ticketless passengers to aisles overflowing with people, the train situation in India seems to be going from bad to worse. And right in the middle of it all, there’s this viral video of a woman airing her grievances to a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE). But it’s his response that’s really got folks talking, stirring up a whole mix of reactions.

Apparently, this all went down on the 22969 OKHA BSBS SF EXP (Okha to Kanpur Central) train. The viral clip captures a woman standing at a railway station, venting about the overcrowded coaches. She’s wondering aloud how women can feel safe with so many men crowding the coaches, not to mention the lack of space to even walk. The TTE, stationed at the train’s gate, responds by folding his hands and stating, “I cannot do anything in this matter. I cannot make extra trains run as I am not the Railways Minister.”

The woman supposedly wanted to switch to a less crowded coach, but the TTE’s response left her with no choice but to shoot back: “You are only concerned about your safety and not the security of women or passengers.”

Take a Look:

As expected, the clip went viral, sparking all sorts of reactions from the public.

Many slammed the TTE for his lacklustre response, calling it a weak excuse. “This is a sorry state of railway. The response of TTE is unwarranted and defies his duty responsibilities. Regretfully, I have seen extremely less TTEs who are empathetic and are considerate. Most of them are stone hearted and are completely inconsiderate,” said one critic. Another chimed in, “This TTE should be suspended on immediate effect. It is duty of TTE & RPF to secure seats for those who reserved their seats,” commented another.

But then there were those who didn’t put all the blame on the TTE, recognizing the broader scale of the issue. “He correctly points finger at who is responsible for this mess,” one person observed. And another added, “Ridiculous demands can’t be met. Planning my journey is my own problem, and if I don’t do so, I should be ready to face the problems. How can a TTE arrange for a seat to her in a crowded coach?? Kuchh bhi??”
