Woman Claims 'Arijit Singh Wrote The National Song Of India', Internet Left In Shock
A content creator recently went out to ask young people about India's National Song and received all the wrong answers.

It is always suggested to learn more about ourselves and our history, as it helps to gain an understanding of our present. This learning process begins right in our schools, where students are introduced to the history of India through books, classes, extra-curricular activities and even by singing the national anthem or national song in the morning. While being factually correct is also important when it comes to learning history, it is still not the strongest of things, especially in the case of teenagers and young adults. A young woman’s response to the composer of India’s National Song is a perfect example of this.

An Instagram user named Rehan Khan recently did a social experiment, taking to the streets and approaching random strangers with questions on General Knowledge. In one of his questions, Khan asked about who wrote the National Song of India and received various answers, except the correct one.

Amid all the responses, a young woman’s unexpected answer has everyone’s attention. She confidently named Arijit Singh, leaving him bewildered.

On the other hand, while many confused the National Song with the National Anthem of India and named Rabindranath Tagore, some even admitted that they didn’t have any idea about it. The video went viral instantly across various social media platforms, garnering a range of reactions.

A user wrote, “The answer Arijit Singh made me leave India,” while another commented, “Are they really illiterate? Or pretending to be?”

“These kids.. They don’t know basic information about the country… National song is Vande Mataram written by Bankimchandra Chatterjee,” a third user commented. Another of the comments read, “Shame! They don’t even know the difference between National Song and Anthem.”

A user questioned the woman’s answer and wrote, “Everything was okay but ARIJIT SINGH??????”, while another shared concern, “This is the shocking truth about our next generation. Without Nationality how could a person build his true character, what’s his/her contribution to society and Nation building”

The post was also shared on X with the caption, “Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay must be crying in heaven somewhere.”

For those unaware, India’s National Song, Vande Mataram was composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, whereas the National Anthem of India, Jana Gana Mana was composed by Rabindranath Tagore.
